TANYA IVANOVA graduated from the National Academy of Music Pancho Vladigerov. Since the 2014/15 season, she has been a soloist of the Plovdiv Opera.
In 2013, she made an impressive début with the role of Odabella of the Verdi’s opera Attila at the Opera Festival of Plovdiv City.
Working and improving her music and vocal technique under Kamen Chanev’s guidance, Tanya has proven to be one of the most wanted Bulgarian spinto soprano. Some of her best roles are Aida from the Verdi’s Aida, Lady Macbeth from Macbeth, Leonora from The Force of Destiny and Leonora from Troubadour, Elisabeth from Don Carlos, Abigail from Nabucco as well as her first role as Mimi from the Puccini’s La bohème, her overwhelming Floria Tosca from the Puccini’s Tosca and the unforgettable Princess Turandot from the Puccini’s Turandot. Her repertoire also includes roles like: Cio-Cio-san from Madame Butterfly and Manon from Manon Lesco of Puccini, Neda from the Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci.
BNR has records of Tanya Ivanova from Verdi’s, Puccini’s, and Dvořák’s operas conducted by Ivan Angelov. Her participation in the premiere of the opera The Force of Destiny at the OPERA OPEN Festival at the Ancient Theatre in 2017, brought her the recognition of the world-known director Stefano Poda and the audience. In 2018 she was invited by the conductor Niksa Bareza to perform the role of Turandot in the Zagreb Opera where her partner was Kamen Chanev. In 2019 at the Opera Open Festival, she partnered Jose Cura in the Verdi’s Otello.
She worked with conductors like: Jose Cura, Niksa Bareza, Abzal Mukhitidin, Christopher Franklin, etc.
In 2021 she was invited by the Tenerife Opera for the role of Odabella of the Verdi’s Attila, where she received excellent reviews:

The prima opera singer Tanya Ivanova established the Kamen Chanev Foundation in 2021 in memory of her beloved – the world-famous tenor Kamen Chanev. To promote the contribution and the significance of Kamen for the Bulgarian and world art history and culture. To continue the life of a voice message: The Voice of Kamen. A message – for devotion and uncompromising honesty to the art of value.
Tanya Ivanova is the partner of Kamen Chanev in life and on the stage. She was next to him and supported him during his prominent international career at the most prestigious musical forums in the world. She was with him on the stage and as his partner in his last role – Othello from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera of the same name. She was with him during his last days when COVID-19 put an early end to his life.
